Wichita Planes Bee Block

I haven't been really productive this week past the charity blocks and finishing the charity quilts. I did finish the paper-pieced star block for my quilt Bee though. Lee asked everybody to make her a star of their choosing with the hopes that everybody's was different. After seeing this block, I purchased the Wichita Planes pattern from eQuiltPatterns.com and made the block for the guild bee.

I really love how the block turned out. This was my first shot at true paper piecing and I had to rip a few seams out and cut more fabric but it turned out great! There are so many small seams that I'm not sure I'd have the patience to make an entire quilt from this block. Since you cut off any backstitching the seams tend to tear apart. Well worth the effort for one Bee Block. Can't wait to see your finished quilt Lee.

And linking up with Lee this week for WIP...
