WIP: downy quilts for kids

A few weeks ago I saw a commercial that Downy had. You can volunteer to make quilts for kids who are sick in the hospital. By request, Downy will even send you a quilt kit in the mail! Fabric is expensive and we are on a budget so I went this route as I had some time I could donate. And since fabric is so cute these days, there are a shortage of boy quilts.

Monday I received a John Deer tractor quilt kit in the mail.

It's all basted and waiting to be quilted. On the instructions mentioned you can send in one of your own creations too. So, I dug through my stash and found enough coordinating fabric to make a girl quilt as well. So, that's on the machine being stippled.

I am so very excited to send Downy TWO quilts by weekend's end to donate. I told Charlotte we were making quilts for little kids who were in the hospital and also needed "mama mades," (that's what quilts are called in this house). It's a good feeling!!

Check it out and see if you can donate some time and talent!!

Also linking up with Lee and have her Bee Block for Milwaukee Modern Quilt Bee half finished!

Wow thanks for sharing the link. I've been looking to do something like that. I may be able to rope some people I know into doing them.
