happy birthday, happy halloween

Thursday, we celebrated my birthday! Charlotte came to dinner with us and the Horstmeyer's. She was a perfect little girl, flirting with people at the nearby tables and sitting in her highchair eating mangos and cheerios. It makes me very happy to know that I can take her fancy places in public and I don't have to worry about her screaming.

Friday, we went trick-or-treating at Daddy's work. Charlotte dressed up as a fairy and every body thought she was just the cutest. Good thing she likes peas over candy right now becuase candy is something we didn't need more of in the house.

All else is well with Charlotte. She's 28/5 inches long and keeps getting more personality. Sleeping is still so-so at home, but she's a fantastic napper and makes my days easy.

happy fall!

This weekend we took a road trip to Tomahawk to visit some friends of mine from college. Charlotte did super in the car but didn't sleep the whole time like she used to. We get lots of motorboat noises from the back seat. On our way home, we stopped to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma LaPean and Great-Grandma Jurkowski. Charlotte was happy to see them all. They were amazed by how big she is getting.
On Saturday, since the fall weather was beautiful, we did a lot of hiking and bird hunting with our friends. Charlotte just LOVED being outside in the backpack. There was lots to see and smell. The three dogs were the most entertaining to her.
At home Charlotte is eating lots of good food. We just started giving her puffs, which is solid food (like Cheerios) that melt in her mouth. She has to pick them up with her fingers and pop 'em in. She also enjoys standing on the floor and gripping the ottoman. Those legs are getting really strong. The two teeth are in and her sleeping patterns are still not ideal. I also think she is growing and growing because she can't seem to eat enough food and MILK.

1st oktoberfest

On Saturday Charlotte attended her first Oktoberfest at Grandma Horstmeyer's house. Over 30 different people held Charlotte and she was a perfect little girl. She gave everybody good smiles and giggles. Here she is in the dirndl that mommy sewed for her. It was a hit!

Almost 7.5 months old now, today she finally rolled over both ways a whole bunch of times. Maybe she'll start scooting soon, as she definitely should be.
