on the go, go, go

We can't believe how fast Charlotte is growing. She is definitely closer to being a toddler than a baby. As seen below, she is furniture surfing all over the place. She crawls all over the house and has discovered the bookshelf and dog bowl. Very soon we will install the cabinet locks, but not on the Tupperware one-- she likes that, and it's safe.

We are slowly phasing out the late-afternoon nap which takes us down to two naps each day. She's been a good sleeper, not fantastic, but good. Charlotte's little personality keeps developing more and more. Each day she keeps trying to talk but the words just aren't there. I'm sure that is only a matter of time too, then she'll be a little chatter box.

We are definitely looking forward to this summer. We plan on testing out the canoe with her and a little camping in the backyard to see how it works. Charlotte loves the tub so we'll be hitting the local pool too. It's great to see how much she has control over her body. She is reaching down while standing, can sit with controlled movement, roll over, grab things and hit! The next project is the introduction of the sippy cup. In a month or so we can start cow's milk and get off the formula.

Which brings us to eating. With her little sassy attitude, Charlotte has become a picky eater. Right now she likes fruit and yogurt. Sometimes I can hide veggies in with that stuff, but it's tricky. Hopefully this phase won't last long. As you can see, we had a fun day with beets above.

vomit + vomit = more vomit

So, I'm home alone tonight. I thought it was going to be a peaceful night, but now I'm thinking not. Charlotte was sitting in the living room after crying in her crib around 4pm nap time and she proceeded to vomit 3 times in the living room. Luckily, I caught the third time in a nearby rag.

We then went into the bathroom and I stripped her down in the tub. Changed her clothes and rocked her. We went into the kitchen to find the tylenol and she puked three more times, the second two made it on me to spare more mess. We stood in the tub and I rocked her.

So, I cleaned her up, again, and rocked her in the bedroom. She was so tired and I laid her down to sleep. fifteen minutes later I hear a cry and she vomited in bed (probably the tylenol). I changed the sheets, changed her clothes, my clothes, re-rocked her and put her back to bed.

Poor little thing. No fever that I can feel. She's not cold or hot, just not feeling well I guess. I believe this is going to be a long night. Good thing I just ordered out Chinese (and they take a check).

she's all over the place

Charlotte is all over the place! We have the pack 'n play officially up full-time in the living room. Charlotte will not sit still for even a minute. Mostly, she's furniture surfing around the living room, grabbing everything she can. After over of week of being gone, it's great to be home. We are back into the swing of things. Charlotte received lots of toys for Christmas so thank you to everybody. We have a rotating toy basket becuase it's just too many to play with at one time.

We've also come to the conclusion that Charlotte says "dada" and "doggie" and really means it. Doggie is by far the best. She just loves Griffin. I can't believe one year is just around the corner. Charlotte also claps her hands on command, especially when you say "yeah!" She's a hoot!
