six month photos

big girl bathtime

On Sunday Charlotte took her first big girl bath in the tub! Don't worry, I was in there to make sure she was safe. Charlotte loved sitting up in the water and splashing around. She sucked on the rubber ducky most of the time. I poured water over her whole head and she had no problem with water in her eyes. What a sport!

On Saturday Charlotte stayed at G'ma Horstmeyer's house without mommy and daddy. She is already getting spoiled! Charlotte got a new toy and got to stay up late. 10PM!! She was a good sleeper and they all had so much fun. Kevin and I went out to dinner and got a FULL night's sleep which was fantastic. We might have to do that more often!

We were on TV!

Yep. That's right. Charlotte and I were on TV. I frequently attend a mother's group the Columbia Center, the independent birthing center where I had Charlotte. The facilitator of our group asked if I would showcase how to "wear" Charlotte on a news segment in preparation of a "baby wearing" clinic they are hosting on Saturday. Of course we were excited to assist. Charlotte was perfect for the LIVE clip and the waiting time beforehand. She made me look good. Here's the link to watch!

tooth almost in!

Charlotte's first tooth is almost in. We have a bottom one on the verge. We finally felt it today and I'm sure it will be totally up within a few days. Other than waking up at night a lot more, the tooth really hasn't caused her any problems. Hopefully it will stay that way. I am also picking up our photos on Tuesday so I will scan them in and everybody can see the tutu!

sitting pretty

Charlotte is really sitting well these days! Today she was with Grandpa all day so mommy could get things done at work. On Monday, Aunt Katie is going to babysit. I think she'll have her hands full! Good experience for a student nurse. Saturday we are getting 6 month photos for Charlotte and mommy made her a pink and purple tutu. Stay tuned for more photos of that!

6 mo. check-up

Charlotte saw the doctor today and she is one fit girl! She is 28" long and in the 97th percentile. Most babies her length are 11 mo. old! As for weight, she's a skinny thing. She is 15 lbs. 9 oz. which puts her in the 50th percentile. That means she's average for weight. He said she is healthy and strong! We are gonna keep doing the mommy game-plan and work at those motor skills!

learning to sit

Charlotte is 6 months old today! She is slowly learning to sit and she held it long enough to take the photo. I think within a week or so she's really going to have the hang of it! Her sleeping patterns are a bit crazy right now because she is growing. However, the eating is good. She's had rice cereal and peas so far. We are going to start green beans next. Tomorrow we go to the doctor for our 6 mo. check-up and it's always good to check in with him to make sure everything is going smoothly.
