Big wedding weekend

This past weekend was jam-packed with family and fun! Thursday night we drove up to Green Bay and stayed at Grandma and Grandpa LaPean's house. Friday was pre-wedding activities for Michael and Laura's wedding on Saturday. Daddy and Grandpa babysat Charlotte so mommy and Grandma could spend the day with Aunt Laura and the girls. Friday night Charlotte slept pretty good at Grandma's house in preparation for the big day ahead!

The wedding was beautiful! In order to give mommy freedom, Grandma and Grandpa Horstmeyer spent Saturday as Charlotte's companion. They also stayed over at the house. During the ceremony, Charlotte spent the hour outside with Grandpa just in case she decided to sing! The dinner was really good and Charlotte got to see lots of the family by being passed around the dinner hall. She was so cute in her pink taffeta dress!

Charlotte is now grabbing her toes on a regular basis. She has also rolled over three times, so we need to keep working on that. We can't believe how big she is getting. Every day is new and exciting. In 5-6 weeks we are going to start her on solid foods, so fun pictures will be abundant. This weekend we will be going to Michigan to visit Erin and do some sailing. What a fun adventure for Charlotte!

hot summer days

Charlotte is so much fun to be around. She just loves to laugh, even when the tears are running down her face. We are managing to fill up our days between working, mommy classes and farmer's markets. On Tuesday, G'pa and G'ma LaPean came down to babysit while mommy went to work. It was great because I accomplished a lot!

Charlotte also rolled over for the 2nd time! Pretty soon she'll be doing it on a regular basis. She loves standing and sitting up too. This weekend we will be going to Crystal Lake to visit our Rapp cousins. We haven't seen them since our wedding and Charlotte has never met them, so it will be a great trip. Melinda is passing on a TON of baby girl outfits to Charlotte, which we really appreciate.

The weekend after that, Uncle Michael and Aunt Laura are getting married so the party dress will come out of the closet. There will be lots of photos from that weekend.

In two months Charlotte will be eating solid foods. I have also made yellow squash, zucchini and carrots. They taste good and look yummy so hopefully Charlotte will think the same.

homemade baby food!

Today I used my Beba Baby Cooker for the first time. I made sugar snap peas that I hand picked last week. It was fantastic! The best part was, I could turn the timer on and walk away. If I forget about it, nothing happens. (Much safer than watching the stove.) I think we are going to have loads of fun making baby food. It will still be a few months until Charlotte gets to try any.

4 months old

Charlotte is four months old! We saw the doctor on July 2nd. She is 14 lbs. 0.7 oz. (70th percentile) and 25.5 inches (95th percentile). No doubt she's still going to be tall! Char also had to get three shots, but took 'em like a trooper. She had a nice, LONG nap when we got home and then forgot all about them.

She is still sleeping at night, around 10-12 hours. I typically wake up once to nurse her, but no complaints here. Summer is treating us nicely. We always go for walks. Recently, Charlotte has started making noises that sound like a squeaky door. We know she has a lot to say! She really wants to stand up and sit on laps too. No more of this laying down stuff. After rolling over once about 2 weeks ago, she hasn't done it since, but we continue to work on that.

No special plans for July 4th-- but Charlotte didn't mind. We went to Uncle Billy's on Friday, but it wasn't warm enough to go swimming. We spent the rest of the weekend at home. Daddy is tileing the backsplash in the kitchen. We love watching her grow! She can't wait to see everybody at Uncle Michael's wedding in just a few short weeks!
