8 weeks old

Charlotte is 8 weeks old and alert and happy. We are having such a great time at home. She is a joy to be around. Each week Charlotte is happier and healthier. We see the doctor next week for her two month check-up.

Today I put on the bouncy chair attachment that lights up and makes jungle noises. She just loved it and watched the waterfall intently. However, it sure made her tired!

On Sunday Charlotte was also baptized. It was a beautiful ceremony and she smelled like balsam fir for three days. Much of the family came over for the event. Afterwards we all had lunch at our house. Despite the ran, it was a beautiful day. My Grandma Burton handmade the gown that Charlotte wore. What a great keepsake.

7 weeks old

I can't belive we have made it 7 weeks and are starting our 8th week and putting an end to month two. Charlotte is doing great! She is very alert and has started smiling. Charlotte is very aware of her surroundings and spends most of her day looking around and observing. Mommy is doing great as well. I've joined another mommy group so I have a chance to meet other women in the area. With the fantastic weather we've had lately, Charlotte, Griffin and I have been going for walks and runs outside. She loves the stroller!

Being a mommy is absolutely everything I knew it would be. She is a very easy baby and seems to be quite happy. Daddy is doing great too. The crib is taking a little longer than expected, but he has started staining it. He and Charlotte are boinding nicely. After all, she looks like him!

Charlotte also gets baptized next Sunday. We have family and friends coming over to help celebrate the event. Since she loves her baths, I think she'll do fine with the fountain.

Easter was great! Charlotte is a super traveler and got to meet the Jurkowski's and the LaPean's. She was the hit of the party. As you can see in the photo, Charlotte wore a cute Easter dress and her bonnett that Aunt Katie bought for her. She's a sweetie!

The best diaper yet!

This morning Charlotte had a super surprise for Daddy. I was cooking pancakes in the kitchen when I hear noises in the bathroom. Daddy called for me because he needed help pulling off her onesie. She had poop smeared all the way up her back. When taking off the onesie it got on her shoulders and in her hair. We threw the onesie out and had to give her an impromptu bath.

Then daddy dressed her and when I came back, the pants she had on were 3-6 mo. pants and needless to say they were a bit big. The pants practically came up to her armpits, but she'll stay warm today.
